5 运用虚拟语气的注意事项

5.1 if的省掉

在虚拟语气的if从句中，若有曩昔完成时助动词had,表“万一”的神态动词should或were出现时，可将这些词置于主语前，而将if省掉。

Ifhe had done it, he would have felt sorry. =

Hadhe done it, he would have felt sorry.

Ifhe should lie, we would punish him. =

Shouldhe lie, we would punish him.

Ifhe were lazy, he might fail. =

Werehe lazy, he might fail.

5.2  时态不一致的假定

虚拟语气有时候从句和主干的时态能够不一致，比方：假如if从句与曩昔现实相反，用曩昔完成时；主句与现在现实相反，则用神态动词的曩昔式。句型如下：

If + 主语 + had + 曩昔分词，主语 + would/could/might/should/ought to + 原形动词+ now。

5.3 相当于if的其他连接词

除了if之外，还有一些词也能够引导虚拟语气的从句。比方：in case (that), on condition that, provided/providing (that), aslong as（只要），so long as（只
